Established in 1961, Hoi Pa Street Government Primary School has witnessed decades of growth and change. This isn’t just any school. Hoi Pa Street Government Primary School played a vital role in the Hong Kong government’s efforts to promote English-language education in the New Territories. It served as a key institution during a time of political tension. The government sought to counter the influence of leftist schools. This historical context adds a layer of significance to Hoi Pa Street Government Primary School’s presence in the community. The school wasn’t always a full-day institution. Originally, from 1961 to 1964, it provided temporary schooling for students of Fanling Government Secondary School. Later, in 1999, Hoi Pa Street Government Primary School transitioned to a full-day system. This marked a significant shift in the school’s operation. The afternoon school relocated and became Fanling Government Primary School. In 2001, Hoi Pa Street Government Primary School celebrated its 40th anniversary. The former Deputy Secretary for Education, Mr. Tang Kai-kong, officiated the ceremony. A decade later, in 2011, the school marked its 50th anniversary. Mr. Cheng Chun-wo, the former Deputy Director of Transport and Housing Bureau, graced the golden jubilee celebrations. Hoi Pa Street Government Primary School continues to serve the community.
