Let’s step back to 1880. Imagine the fields around here bustling with farmers. They brought their grain to this very mill. Zum Holländer was the heart of the local agricultural community.
After the war, in 1955, the mill continued its work. Müller Arlt purchased it from farmer Bollhagen. The mill continued grinding grain until 1995.
But Zum Holländer wasn’t always a restaurant. In the early 80s, it transformed into the youth club Klaus Störtebeker. Even during its time as a youth club, the mill kept running.
The 90s brought more changes. The youth club closed and the Arlt family regained control. In 1993, part of the mill opened as a restaurant. Two years later, the lower level became the historical Mühlenstube. It hosted many events.
Today, Zum Holländer is known for its delicious food. It has four tastefully decorated rooms. They are perfect for celebrations. When the sun shines, the Muehlengarten beckons. It is a great place to relax.
