Ten creative minds. That’s the heart of the zettzwo Produzentengalerie in Karlsruhe. This artist-run space isn’t just a gallery. It’s a collaborative hub where artists showcase contemporary art, exchange ideas, and challenge the commercial art scene. The zettzwo Produzentengalerie, located on Zunftstraße 2 in Karlsruhe-Durlach, became Karlsruhe’s first Produzentengalerie when it opened in July 2015. It was born from “Project 50/50,” an annual exhibition that donates half its proceeds to charity. This project sparked the idea for a permanent space dedicated to contemporary art and dialogue. The zettzwo Produzentengalerie carries on this charitable spirit. The founding members, Susanne Berding, Vera Holzwarth, Pavel Miguel, Wolfgang Kopf, Alexander Koch, Thomas Leder, Karin Münch, Martina Pods, Claudia Helena Rudlof, and Katja Wittemann, represent diverse artistic disciplines. Their shared passion for creation and discussion led them from showcasing their work in Durlach’s town hall basement to establishing the zettzwo Produzentengalerie. This gallery isn’t static. It pulsates with activity. Every second Friday of the month, a new exhibition blossoms with a vernissage. The artists present works around a shared theme, fostering a sense of unity and exploration. Beyond these group shows, individual and small-group exhibitions flourish, each exploring unique themes and perspectives. The zettzwo Produzentengalerie also hosted an exhibition titled “Metamorphosen.” This exhibition ran from February 14th to March 8th. It explored themes of transformation and change, drawing inspiration from zoology and mythology. If you’re ever in Karlsruhe-Durlach on a Saturday, the zettzwo Produzentengalerie welcomes you from 10 am to 2 pm. It’s a chance to experience the vibrant energy of contemporary art and witness the power of creative collaboration.
