Raider pride fills the air here at Wylie East High School. Since opening in 2007, Wylie East has become a cornerstone of the community. It serves the residents of Wylie and Sachse.

Wylie East High School started small. In its first year it only served ninth-grade students. The community voiced its desire for multiple high schools. In January 2008 the district voted in favor. Wylie East added tenth grade in 2009. The Class of 2012 was the first to graduate from Wylie East. Before that the Class of 2011 graduated from Wylie High School.

Wylie East has expanded over the years. An $18 million renovation completed in 2013 added many facilities. There were career and technology classrooms and science classrooms. The school gained 500 parking spaces and a field house. A band hall and two gymnasiums were also added. In 2022, renovations added new classrooms. A CTE building and the Mike Williams Event Center were also constructed.

The school’s motto is “It’s a great day to be alive and a great day to be a Raider.” Wylie East High School’s colors are Navy Blue, Jay Blue and Silver.

Wylie East High School excels academically. In 2019, the Texas Education Agency rated the school highly. It received an average score of 91.3. The school received an accountability rating of A for the 2021-2022 school year. The graduation rate is impressive. In 2021, 98.4% of students graduated on time. The average SAT score at Wylie East High School was 1027. The average ACT score was 23.6.

Wylie East offers many sports. The Wylie East Raiders compete in baseball and basketball. They also participate in cheerleading and cross country. Football, golf and powerlifting are also offered. Students can also join soccer, softball and tennis teams. Track and field, volleyball and wrestling are further options. The Girls Soccer team won a state title in 2014.

Each graduating class leaves its mark. They donate items to the school. These include park benches, a rock logo and a steel Raider statue. These gifts are displayed to remember each class.
