Can a church rise from humble beginnings? The Worth Hill Holiness Church is a testament to the power of faith and perseverance. It stands before us, a beacon of hope in the Dallas community. This church’s story begins not with grand pronouncements but with a classified ad and a leap of faith.

In 1988, Pastor Charles Hill stumbled upon a for-sale ad for a church building. He had a vision to start a church but lacked resources. The building, formerly Greater Saint Luke Baptist Church, needed repairs. Yet, Pastor Hill and his wife, Juetta, saw potential. With only $3,000, they acquired the property and held their first service on April 10, 1988. The Worth Hill Holiness Church, then known as Old Landmark Holiness Church, was born.

The early years were challenging. The building needed extensive repairs, including a caving wall and a missing foundation. But the small congregation, led by Pastor Hill and First Lady Juetta, persevered. They saw the church not as a dilapidated structure but as a symbol of hope and a testament to their faith. They believed in their mission and worked tirelessly to make Worth Hill Holiness Church a reality.

Pastor Hill preached the “Highway of Holiness.” He believed in the power of faith and righteousness. His wife, Juetta, was a source of strength and inspiration. She was a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree, but her true calling was to serve alongside her husband. She was known for her grace, love, and powerful evangelism. Together, they poured their hearts and souls into the church.

In 2003, the church underwent a major remodel, a tangible sign of their growing congregation and unwavering faith. Remarkably, by 2012, they had paid off the church. It was a triumphant moment, a testament to their dedication and the support of their community.

The story of Worth Hill Holiness Church is also marked by loss. Pastor Charles Hill passed away in 2013 after 25 years of dedicated service. First Lady Juetta Hill followed in 2018. Their legacy, however, lives on. Their son, Charles Hill II, now leads the church, carrying the torch of faith and service. He, like his father, experienced a miraculous healing from brain cancer at the age of 16 after his parents’ fervent prayers. This experience solidified his commitment to God and the ministry. He married Cynthia Hill, who serves as First Lady, continuing the tradition of strong women leaders within the church.

Worth Hill Holiness Church is more than just a building. It’s a testament to the power of faith, the strength of community, and the enduring legacy of those who dared to dream. It is a place where lives are changed, where hope is renewed, and where the spirit of the Hills continues to inspire.
