Amidst the serene Air Itam War Memorial Park in Penang, rises a unique monument. It’s the World Peace Memorial. Beneath the obelisk lie the cremated remains of around 800 victims, recovered from mass graves across Penang. Their sacrifice underscores the devastating impact of war and occupation.
