Beneath the urban landscape of Manila lies a beacon of hope. This is Word of Grace. It is a church committed to building life-giving relationships. Word of Grace is serious about loving God. They value each other. They carry hope to their community.
Word of Grace believes the Bible is God’s living word. It believes in one true God. This God exists as Father Son and Holy Spirit. These are each unique but equal in power. The church believes Jesus’ sacrifice covers sin. This enables people to live in relationship with God.
Word of Grace uses three harbor lights to guide its journey. These lights are formation mission and presence. Formation means letting the Word of God shape you. It means actively following Jesus. Mission means sharing the Gospel with the world. Presence means trusting God’s strength. It means relying on the Holy Spirit.
Grace is for everyone at Word of Grace. The church focuses on the most important things. It creates a place where anyone can belong. Everything they do brings glory to God. The Kingdom and message are taken very seriously.
Creativity is valued in everything. This includes worship and teaching. Discipleship is also very important. It is a hallmark of genuine community. Word of Grace intentionally mentors people.
Word of Grace welcomes families of all ages. It empowers youth. Everyone is called to serve with passion. The church focuses on where God is leading. It begins with a vision. This vision is to reconnect the lost with God. The stories of the community matter. Word of Grace values these stories.
The church encourages its members to give go and pray. They give their time talent and treasure. They go into the community to share God’s love. They pray for transformation. Word of Grace exists to share His grace with everyone.
Word of Grace dreams of making disciples. They dream of baptizing many people. They dream of giving to missions. The church is strategically affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Word of Life Philippines began in 1973. Rev Ernie Hautala arrived from the United States. The team focused on evangelism. They focused on discipleship. They used Bible Clubs and basketball.
In 1977 God provided jungle property for a camp. Construction began. Young people came to know the Lord. Office Bible studies started around Manila. In 1981 the Word of Life Bible Institute began. Today it trains many students each year.
Local Church Ministries partners with local churches. They provide discipleship and training. Word of Life’s camping ministry expanded. God provided a seaside property. The ministry expanded to over staff. They are located in the Philippines.
Word of Life Philippines has four main areas of ministry. These include the Bible Institute and the camp. Campus Ministry engages college students. Local Church Ministries helps churches build youth ministries.
Word of Grace continues to reach young people. They share God’s message of hope. It is a place where grace meets you. It is a place where it never leaves you the same.
