The Woodside High School has witnessed a lot of change, even its name has been changed a few times. It was once known as White Hart Lane. The current name dates back to 2006. You are now in front of the large school building, which was built back in 1962. The school sits close to many sports facilities. You can see a football ground and tennis court just across the street. The New River sports centre and a rugby field are also within easy reach. The school saw a major refurbishment with new buildings and a new school for children with disabilities.

Located in the Wood Green area of London’s borough of Haringey, the Woodside High School is a mixed 11-16 academy with a student roll of 1200. The school has been recognized by Ofsted as outstanding for two consecutive inspections. The school offers specialist status in Business and Enterprise. The school is now one of the top schools in Haringey, being 3rd in the Haringey league tables and in the top 25 of the most improved schools in the country. The school has achieved a highly valued reputation.

The school’s history goes back to 1884 when separate boys’ and girls’ Higher Grade schools were established in Wood Green. By 1898, both schools had become overcrowded and in 1899 were merged into a single building in Bounds Green Road. The school was then taken over by the Middlesex education committee in 1921. After closing and reopening as Trinity County Grammar school, the school amalgamated with Wood Green County School in 1962. The school then moved to White Hart Lane, leaving the Glendale Avenue site to Woodside School. The school was renamed Woodside High School in 2006 and became an academy, Mulberry Academy Woodside, in 2011.

The school has a rich history and a bright present. Many notable alumni, such as drummer Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden and paralympic medalist Ali Jawad have learned these benches. The school continues to thrive and provide a valuable education for young people.
