Woodleigh School has a rich history. It was founded in 1856 as St Paul’s School. It operated out of a hall on the grounds of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Frankston. It holds the distinction of being the first school in Frankston. Also, Woodleigh School is one of the earliest in Victoria. Moreover, it proudly stands as the oldest co-educational school in the state.

In 1970, the school moved to a property off Seaview Road. This location became known as Minimbah. In 1975, Woodleigh School purchased the former Woodleigh farm. The Minimbah site then became the junior campus. The Woodleigh site became the senior campus.

The school acquired more land at its Woodleigh site. The school changed its name to Woodleigh School in 1999.

Woodleigh School is committed to the IDEALS of Round Square. This means the school focuses on educating the whole person. It achieves this through a range of programs and activities. The aim is to develop minds, initiative, independence, character and personality.
