She imagined a cultural hub right here in Kirchweyhe. She shared her dream during the “Weyhe Total” event and managed to win over Heinz-Hermann Kuhlmann, the mastermind behind the Weyher Marktplatz. And thus, the Weyher Theater was born. Established in 2000, the Weyher Theater is a testament to the power of community spirit. Local businesses chipped in, becoming sponsors to bring this dream to life. The inaugural performance? A German premiere of Barry Creyton’s hilarious comedy, “Valentinstag”. Over the years, the Weyher Theater has grown tremendously. Initially accommodating 198 eager theatergoers, it underwent a major expansion in 2009. Today, it boasts a spacious hall with 313 seats, a state-of-the-art stage with a revolving platform, and even a rehearsal stage tucked away below. The Weyher Theater isn’t just about size, it’s about ambition. Their production of “Cash”, a captivating biography of the legendary Johnny Cash, played for five years, enchanting audiences with its soulful melodies.
