Opened in 1886 as Broomsleigh Street School West Hampstead Primary School boasts a rich history. Initially it had an entrance on Broomsleigh Street. The school’s name changed in 1929 to Beckford Primary School. This was named after William Beckford a former London mayor whose wealth originated from the slave trade.
