Weser-Ems, along with other Regierungsbezirke, was dissolved. This marked a significant change in Lower Saxony’s administration. The Weser-Ems region encompassed twelve districts, each with a distinct identity. Emsland powered the region with energy. Friesland boasted a breathtaking coastline. Leer charmed with its peaceful setting on the Leda River. Oldenburg stood proud, steeped in history. Osnabrück bustled with university life. Vechta held fast to its agricultural roots. Wesermarsch displayed the beauty of its marshes. Wittmund harnessed the wind’s energy. Five district-free towns further enriched Weser-Ems. Delmenhorst hummed with textile production.
