It stands as the only early learning center of its kind in King County. High-quality early learning services are offered to children and their caregivers. This includes a deep devotion to cultural competence and racial equity. Authentic inclusion is another key element. The ELC follows trauma-informed practices. It maintains a low teacher-child ratio of 1:5. A therapist is part of the team. Family Support Specialists work with parents. A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is active in each child’s experience.
Lead Teachers must have a degree in early childhood education. They also need relevant experience with children ages 1-5. Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are served daily. These meals meet USDA standards. The ELC has a no-expulsion policy. Without this program, the children served by Wellspring would go unserved.
