Has anyone ever told you about the angel of Wallyford? Pamela Martin, the coordinator of the old community center, poured her heart into this place. Now, that same spirit thrives within the walls of Wallyford Livingroom Church. Wallyford Livingroom Church has a rich history, intertwined with the community it serves. It’s a story of transformation, both for the building and the people who gather here. The church’s roots trace back to the Wallyford Mission, established in 1926. For years, the mission served as a beacon of hope, offering prayer and outreach to the community. Wallyford Livingroom Church carries on that legacy, continuing to share the message of Jesus Christ. The church met at the Wallyford Miners Welfare and Social Club for a time. Then, an opportunity arose. The old community center, a beloved landmark on Albert Place, became available. The church saw the potential to expand its reach and further serve Wallyford. In 2019, Wallyford Livingroom Church purchased the building, transforming it into their new home. The former community center, now Wallyford Livingroom Church, is a hub of activity. Sunday mornings are filled with worship services in the spacious gym hall. During the week, the church hosts home groups for deeper Bible study and prayer. There’s also Tots+, a lively gathering for parents and carers on Thursday mornings. Wallyford Livingroom Church envisions even more for the community. Plans are underway to create flexible spaces for various activities, like a warm space for those needing companionship and activities for youth and children who often feel overlooked. From a community center to a church, the building on Albert Place continues to be a place of connection, belonging, and hope. Wallyford Livingroom Church is more than just a building; it’s a living testament to the enduring spirit of community and faith.
