Wallington United Reformed Church is located in the London Borough of Sutton. It stands about 15 miles southwest of central London. The church formed in 1987. This happened through the union of the United Reformed Churches at Christ Church and Holmwood Gardens.
To truly appreciate Wallington United Reformed Church, we need to step back in time. The origins of one part of this church, Christ Church, trace back to 1880. It was then known as Christ Church Presbyterian Church. Presbyterian roots run deep. They go back to the 16th century. Calvinist theology influenced England and Scotland through figures like George Wishart and John Knox.
The United Reformed Church itself is a product of unification. In 1972, the Presbyterian Church of England merged with the Congregational Church of England and Wales. This formed the URC. Later, in 1981, the Re-formed Churches of Christ joined. The Congregational Union of Scotland followed in 2000. Today, the URC has numerous local churches united with other denominations.

March 2010 marked the centenary of the opening of the premises for worship. In 2013-14, the sanctuary roof was replaced after 80 years.

Day-to-day leadership comes from church officers and the Elders Meeting. They use a tripartite structure of Working Groups.
In 2011, the church updated its vision. This reaffirmed its commitment to being a welcoming and lively church. It also emphasized serving the local community. The vision endorses the church’s understanding of its Healing Ministry.
