The Wallan Gateway Church and Community Centre stands proudly on Commercial Drive, a beacon of faith and community spirit in this vibrant town. This is not just a church, it is a meeting place for people from all walks of life, a place that has witnessed a remarkable journey since its humble beginnings. In 2008, a small group of passionate individuals envisioned a church that would radiate warmth and be deeply rooted in its community. It all began with a shared desire to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and create a space for people to connect, grow, and serve. It was a joint initiative of Churches of Christ Vic/Tas and Baptist Union of Victoria bringing together different denominations in the pursuit of a common goal. Wallan Gateway Church welcomed its congregation, a diverse mix of people, to its first service on April 20, 2008. The church thrived, creating a sense of belonging for many in the community. It was soon evident that the original space was no longer large enough to accommodate its expanding congregation. In April 2013, they moved to their purpose-built church and community centre, a testament to their growth and commitment to serving their community. There’s a palpable energy here, a sense of hope and togetherness that fills you as you walk through the doors. You’ll see people of all ages happily engaging in various activities, a testament to the vibrant community that Wallan Gateway Church has cultivated. You’ll also see the church’s dedication to providing a safe space for children and youth groups, where they can learn and grow in faith. And you’ll experience the warmth and kindness of the people, always welcoming with open arms. Wallan Gateway Church’s story is one of unwavering hope and the transformative power of community.
