In 1997, a group broke away from Huset’s music theater. This bold move led to the creation of Voxhall. Voxhall quickly became a beloved venue in Aarhus. Voxhall stands as a testament to their vision. The group desired to bring bigger international acts to Aarhus. This desire propelled the creation of Voxhall. Voxhall officially opened its doors after 18 months of renovations. The building was physically separated from Huset. Voxhall boasts a large concert hall, a café, and a balcony. The main hall can hold 700 people. The stage in the main hall is quite large, measuring 14 by 5 meters. The high ceiling, six meters above, ensures excellent views from any spot in Voxhall. In addition to the main venue, Voxhall also operates a smaller stage with a capacity of 300. This stage showcases world music, folk music, and jazz. There is no dress code or age limit at Voxhall. However, like many venues, be prepared to show your ID at the bar. While the physical connection to Huset is gone, the spirit of Huset lives on. Voxhall, along with Kulturgyngen (now Godsbanen), hosted a three-day moving party for Huset. This demonstrated their commitment to the arts community. Although Voxhall draws large international acts, it still maintains a diverse musical program. You can find everything from punk rock to folk music within its walls. The echoes of Huset’s original vision continue to resonate within Voxhall.
