The Villa Windsor, a magnificent Neoclassical villa, stands before you, tucked away in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. Known for its rich history and elegant grandeur, the Villa Windsor has witnessed a fascinating past, a tale filled with royalty, love, and intrigue.

Imagine stepping back in time, to the 1930s, a moment of seismic change in British history. Edward VIII, deeply in love with Wallis Simpson, a twice-divorced American socialite, made the unthinkable decision to abdicate his throne. This act of love, deemed controversial by his family and the British public at the time, was an act of defiance against tradition and a defining moment in his life.

For decades, the Villa Windsor served as a sanctuary for Edward and then, his wife Wallis, known as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. After Edward’s death, the villa stayed with Wallis, who continued to host lavish gatherings and receptions. They even had a country house, the Moulin de la Tuilerie, where they would escape the Parisian life for the weekends.

Later, the Villa Windsor was leased to Mohamed Al-Fayed, the Egyptian businessman who owned Harrods department store in London. You can imagine a scene: lavish parties with dignitaries from all over the world. This was a period of immense change for the Villa Windsor, and it continued to uphold its reputation as a meeting place for the elite of society.

And then, tragedy struck. The Villa Windsor became connected to the infamous death of Princess Diana. Her son Dodi Al-Fayed, Mohamed Al-Fayed’s son, visited the villa with Diana just before their tragic demise.

Today, the Villa Windsor stands as a testament to the power of love, loss, and the enduring appeal of a building that has seen it all. It remains a captivating, evocative space, beckoning you to immerse yourself in the stories it holds within its elegant, brick walls.
