Crafted from various coloured stones, this emblem represents the unity and strength of the force. Look closely at the wall. You’ll see a checkered pattern of Riverina granite and bluestone tiles bordering the top, a detail that adds a touch of elegance to the solemn structure. Cast in bronze and set into the bluestone wall are the names of the fallen officers. Each name whispers a story of service, a life dedicated to protecting others. The inscription on the memorial reads: “This memorial recognises the ultimate sacrifice paid by members of the Victoria Police Force in maintaining law & order in Victoria. The memorial stands as a symbol of the community’s deepest respect and as a tribute to those members of the Victoria Police Force who have given their lives in the line of duty so that the Victorian community is a safer place for all.” The Victoria Police Memorial is more than just stone and bronze.
