From a hopeful seed planted in 2005, Uplift Community High School blossomed in Uptown, Chicago. Uplift Community High School stands as a testament to the power of community and the pursuit of knowledge. It’s more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a place where dreams take flight and futures are forged. Uplift Community High School is part of the Chicago Public Schools system, serving students from grades 9 through 12. As of the 2019-2020 school year, the student body numbered around 121 students, making it a close-knit learning environment.
Uplift Community High School isn’t just focused on academics. It understands the importance of a well-rounded education. The school’s sports teams, the Titans, compete in the Chicago Public League and the Illinois High School Association. The Titans have a history of success, particularly the boys’ basketball team. They clinched the IHSA 2A state title in the 2014-2015 season, a victory fueled by star players like Jeremy Roscoe, Daniel Soetan, and Spencer Foley. Even JV sensation Demarius Jacobs got to experience the thrill of the championship court.
Uplift Community High School is deeply invested in providing a comprehensive education. It’s an Early College STEAM school, offering pathways towards an Associate of Science, an Associate of Art in Elementary Education, and an Associate of Art in Secondary Education.
