Established in 1988 Universitas Trilogi boasts a rich history. It began as the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Keuangan dan Perbankan Indonesia or STEKPI. This institution was under the wing of the Yayasan Pengembangan Pendidikan Indonesia Jakarta or YPPIJ. YPPIJ a significant force in Indonesian education was driven by prominent figures. These included Professor Dr Haryono Suyono a former Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare. Dr HC Subiakto Tjakrawerdaya a former Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs was also involved. Professor Dr Nasaruddin Umar a former Deputy Minister of Religion also played a crucial role. Their vision was to fulfill the aspirations of the second Indonesian President Pak Harto. This involved achieving national food and energy independence. To achieve this goal YPPIJ expanded STEKPI into Universitas Trilogi. This was supported by major foundations including Yayasan Damandiri Supersemar Dharmais and Dakab.

Universitas Trilogi stands as a testament to this ambitious vision. Its current rector Professor Dr Pramono Hari Adi MS leads the university. The university’s growth involved collaboration with prestigious institutions. The Bandung Institute of Technology ITB and Bogor Agricultural University IPB were key partners. This collaboration helped shape the university’s diverse academic offerings. The university also collaborated with Taman Buah Mekarsari the world’s largest tropical fruit garden. This partnership further enriched its academic programs.

Initially focused on economics finance and banking Universitas Trilogi has expanded significantly. It now offers thirteen diverse study programs. Five programs are continuations from STEKPI while eight represent exciting new additions. This expansion demonstrates the university’s commitment to adapting to changing educational needs. The university’s impressive architectural design is a remarkable feature. Designed by Atelier 6 its post-modern style is a noteworthy aspect of its identity. The campus which covers 26 hectares was designed to be more than just classrooms. It sought to foster a sense of community and belonging among students.

The campus received accolades including an IAI Award in 1991. The design’s unique blend of Indonesian and Western elements makes it truly special. The incorporation of traditional Indonesian roof designs along with modern facilities create a unique campus environment. Universitas Trilogi’s commitment to teknopreneurship collaboration and independence sets it apart. These three pillars form the core of the university’s ethos. They guide its academic programs and its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education. Today Universitas Trilogi remains a prominent institution. It continues to shape the future of Indonesia by producing graduates ready to contribute meaningfully to society. Its legacy speaks volumes about the vision and commitment of its founders. This vision continues to inspire future generations of students.
