How about a journey through time at Universitas Pancasila. Founded on October 28, 1966, Universitas Pancasila is a private university. It stands proudly in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Universitas Pancasila history began with a merger. The old Universitas Pancasila founded in 1963 joined with Universitas Bung Karno. Universitas Bung Karno was founded in 1964. The merger created the Universitas Pancasila we know today.
The name Universitas Pancasila is more than just a label. It reflects a deep commitment. The mission is to positively contribute to science, technology, and society. It aims to cultivate a Pancasila-minded community. This aligns with the 1945 Constitution. Universitas Pancasila strives to produce graduates. These graduates embody the values of Pancasila. They possess knowledge, skills, and ecological awareness. They are ready to contribute to law, economics, and ecology.
Initially, Universitas Pancasila had limited resources. It started with 10,160 square meters of land. Buildings covered 5,196 square meters. These were located on Jl. Borobudur No. 7 in Central Jakarta. The Finance Department donated the land. In 1985, Universitas Pancasila expanded. It acquired a building on Jl. Garuda Kemayoran for the Faculty of Economics.
In 1988, a new Faculty of Economics building was completed. It was located in Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta. The Faculty of Economics moved to the new building. Other faculties gradually followed. Today, the Srengseng Sawah campus spans 111,255 square meters. Buildings occupy 38,076 square meters. The campus houses the Rectorate, and the Faculties of Economics. You will also find the Faculties of Pharmacy, Law, and Engineering here. The Jl. Borobudur campus now hosts postgraduate programs.
Universitas Pancasila offers a wide range of undergraduate programs. These are divided into seven faculties. The Faculty of Economics and Business offer courses in Economics. The Faculty of Law provides legal education. Pharmacy students can study at the Faculty of Pharmacy. The Faculty of Engineering covers Architecture, and Information. You can also study Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering. The Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Communication also teach here. The Faculty of Tourism completes the academic spectrum.
Over 50,000 alumni have graduated from Universitas Pancasila. Each year, over 1,500 students graduate. In 2016, Universitas Pancasila celebrated its 50th anniversary. During this celebration, 1,711 scholars graduated. At that time, Universitas Pancasila had 13,000 active students.
