Here at Universidad Latina, stories echo from its very foundations. Universidad Latina’s history began on January 16, 1967. It was first established as the “School of Accounting and Administration of Mexico City S.C.” ECAM was founded by Adrián Mora Duhart, Gustavo Mondragón Hidalgo, and Adrián Mora Aguilar.
In 1973, a significant change occurred. The Escuela de Contabilidad y Administración de la Ciudad de México, S.C. became Universidad Latina S.C. Initially, the university only offered a degree in Accounting. Soon, it gained recognition from UNAM. Two years later, a degree in Business Administration was added.
By 1977, Universidad Latina aimed to shape young minds. It introduced the (C.C.H) Study Plan, affiliated with UNAM. This provided a solid educational option for students.
A setback occurred in 1985. The Universidad Latina campus was lost due to an earthquake. Despite this, the university persevered. It introduced new professional programs like Law, Computer Science, Education, and Marketing. This expansion led to the creation of more campuses.
Today, Universidad Latina has four campuses. Two are in the State of Morelos. The other two are in the Federal District. These campuses offer education from secondary school to postgraduate levels. They are affiliated with UNAM or the SEP. This reflects over 40 years of academic excellence.
In 2022, Universidad Latina had 2072 students. 45% were men and 55% were women. In the same year, there were 342 undergraduate graduates. 141 were men and 201 were women. The most popular fields of study were Social Sciences and Law, Administration and Business, and Education.
Universidad Latina has grown into a well-respected institution. It stands as a testament to resilience and commitment to education. The university continues to evolve. It adapts to meet the changing needs of its students and the broader community. It is a place where futures are shaped.
