United Missionary Baptist Church

On a quiet street in Dallas, Texas, nestled among the everyday lives of its community, stands the United Missionary Baptist Church. This unassuming building, located at 831 E. Ann Arbor Road, holds within its walls a rich history and a vibrant community of faith. The United Missionary Baptist Church was founded on a powerful mission: to touch the lives of people, both those seeking to know Jesus Christ and those already walking in faith. This mission, as stated in Matthew 28:19-20, is brought to life through services, discipleship, fellowship, and empowerment, all working towards the growth and building of the Kingdom. The heart of the United Missionary Baptist Church beats strongly under the leadership of Pastor W.L. Mitchell and his wife, Minister Suzette Mitchell. In 1984, Pastor Mitchell heard the call to “Preach the Gospel”. He was licensed by his father. He served at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Hamilton Park as Assistant Pastor to Bishop Miller Johnson Jr., who also ordained him. In 1998, a new chapter began for both Pastor Mitchell and the United Missionary Baptist Church when he accepted the call to become their pastor. For over seventeen years, he has guided the congregation with courage and perseverance, demonstrating the power of faith in the face of trials and the importance of waiting on God’s timing. By his side, Minister Suzette Mitchell, a true embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman, stands as a pillar of strength and support. Despite her many roles as a wife, mother, first lady, minister, leader, teacher, co-worker, and friend, she remains a beacon of faith and dedication to God, her family, and her community. Her impact extends through her roles as a Sunday school teacher and director of Women on Mission.
