Wasn’t it here where Seattle’s vibrant LGBTQ scene found a home? We are standing in front of Union, a beloved gay bar and cocktail lounge in Capitol Hill. It is located on East Union Street.

Union opened its doors in 2018. Nathan Benedict, Mark Engelmann, and Steve Nyman were its founders. The space had previously been occupied by Zoe. It quickly became a popular spot.

Union’s story has a few twists. In 2019, a fire damaged the building. Union relocated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, Union reopened on March 12, 2021.

Union is more than just a bar. It is a place for community. It is a place for celebration. It is a place where everyone is welcome. The bar has faced challenges. It has always bounced back stronger.

Union’s menu features pizzas. Burgers, salads, and sandwiches are also available. You can also enjoy beer, spirits, and wine. There is something for everyone here.

LGBTQ-owned, Union holds a special place in the community. It is a safe and inclusive space. It is a place where people can be themselves. It contributes to Seattle’s diverse culture.

Union is more than just a physical space. It is a symbol of resilience. It represents community and acceptance. It stands as a testament to Seattle’s inclusive spirit.
