Perhaps you’re wondering why we’re stopping here in front of this modern building. This is UCES – San Isidro. It is a branch of the Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales. UCES means University of Business and Social Sciences in English.

UCES – San Isidro opened its doors in 2013. It provides more study opportunities for those in Buenos Aires. The university offers high-level careers. It has optimal facilities for quality learning.

UCES as a whole has a rich history. It goes back to 1942. That was when the Asociación de Dirigentes de Venta was founded. This translates to the Association of Sales Managers. The institution changed its name over time. Since 1983, it was called Asociación Dirigentes de Empresa-ADE. This means Association of Business Managers.

In 1957, ADE promoted the formation of the Escuela Superior. That’s the Higher School. In 1964, it prompted the creation of the Fundación de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Comerciales. That’s the Foundation for Advanced Studies in Commercial Sciences.

Until the early 1980s, FAECC developed careers. These careers had great business recognition. But their titles only had the exclusive backing of the Institution. In 1983, a ministerial resolution approved it. It became an institute incorporated into official education. This allowed it to issue official degrees.

Around 1988, a team of university graduate experts was called upon. They developed a university project. The team worked under the direction of Dr. Horacio A. O’Donnell. He was the president of ADE at the time. This group analyzed projects from various national and private universities. It carried out numerous consultations. It consulted with people in more than 150 foreign universities.

The project proposed a novel methodology. It suggested a high integration. This included theoretical studies, practice via the case method and research. The Boards of Directors of the Institution approved it.

Before settling on the concept of a university, its historical origin was considered. Its comprehensive development was also taken into account. This led to the name Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales. Its abbreviation is UCES. The project was submitted in September 1989. It sought approval from the Ministry of Culture, Education and Justice of the Nation. It was approved in October 1991.

The resolution ratified the organic structure of the University. It comprised its Governing Bodies. It also included the faculties of Business Sciences and Communication Sciences. It also allowed for the creation of degrees in Marketing, Business Administration, Foreign Trade, Advertising and Journalism.

UCES San Isidro, like other UCES campuses, provides academic areas. Here you can choose your preference. Some careers are taught online. Most are in person. The academic areas include Health Sciences plus Social Sciences and Humanities. Also included are Administration, Business and Finance in addition to Art, Design and Architecture plus Law.

Some of the careers taught at this campus offer a technical degree. This happens upon reaching the second or third year. This is true for Human Resources, Design and Communication plus Public and Institutional Relations.

Most postgraduate programs are at the Capital Federal campus. But UCES has some virtual options.
