TwistED Science is not your average museum. It is an award-winning, science-based family playzone. Forget boring exhibits. Here, you can test your reaction speed. Discover the future of food. Challenge your friends to build a virtual river. You can even make fantastic flying machines. TwistED Science offers a new way to play.
Imagine a place where science is fun and messy. That is what TwistED Science is all about. This place takes science out of a box. It makes it creative and engaging. All programs are hands-on. They are designed to be simple to understand. Kids can easily associate them with real-life situations.
For birthday parties, TwistED Science offers two amazing packages. These are the Playzone Party and the Lab Party. Both last two hours and 15 minutes. The parties are full of science adventure. Each party includes a designated host. You also get a private room. Access to the playzone is included too. As a snack, enjoy popcorn popped straight from the cob. Fruit juice or water is also provided. The Lab Party lets you choose from five experiments. All include take-home creations. Options include slime strings, bubbleology, super slime, lava lamps and fizzy bath bombs.
TwistED Science is located at 22-36 Bulli Street, Moorabbin. It is in the old Holmesglen TAFE campus. The location is easily accessible. It is just three minutes off the Nepean Highway. Look out for the “Science Museum” road signs. Free parking is available on site. If coming by bus, it is a four-minute walk from the Isabella Street/Rowans Road stop.
The exhibit floor is split into three main areas: blue, green and tangerine. Blue and green are part of the general admission ticket. All ages can access these. Tangerine is a private area. It is designed especially for pre-school children. A cosy space for tots under two years old is cocooned within Tangerine. A parents’ room and pram parking are available.
The gift shop is full of science toys and puzzles. You can find something for all budding scientists. There might even be edible bugs to take home. The Snack Lab Cafe offers coffee. It is responsibly sourced and roasted locally. There are also fun snacks to re-energize you. Special science drinks come in beakers and conical flasks.
TwistED Science aims to promote interest in science and technology. They do this through creative experiences. They facilitate futuristic STEM-based thinking. It is a place for all ages. Everyone from 0 to 105 can have fun. TwistED Science encourages playing together. It reminds us of Albert Einstein’s quote. “Play is the highest form of research.”

While the Echuca and Moorabbin sites share exhibits, there are differences. Moorabbin has the bubble room and rocket launcher. Echuca has the augmented reality climbing wall and bee hive. TwistED Science does not receive government funding. Ticket and event sales support their work. So, come and support science fun.
