In 1990, the Muslim community bought an empty field. It sat in front of the Tugu Masjid Baabul Jannah. The land measured 875 square meters. The community raised personal funds to buy it. The land cost Rp. 30000 per square meter at the time. Some people bought one square meter. Others bought up to ten. They then donated the land to the Tugu Masjid Baabul Jannah. This expanded space allowed the community to celebrate Eid prayers. It also allowed them to hold Idul Adha activities.
A significant change occurred on June 6, 2014. The Great Conference of Muslim Citizens of Pondok Duta I decided on a new name. Masjid Pondok Duta became Tugu Masjid Baabul Jannah. Baabul Jannah means “Garden of Paradise”. The name reflects its role as a serene and blessed space.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sukro Muhab, M.Si, the Tugu Masjid Baabul Jannah has several missions. These include improving worship quality. The Tugu Masjid Baabul Jannah enhances religious guidance. It also increases social services. They also aim to improve management quality. Strengthening Islamic propagation is another goal.
