Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. A beacon of faith and resilience in Dallas, Texas. In the vibrant heart of this city, this church stands as a testament to the power of community and unwavering belief. Our journey begins not within these walls, but in a humble basement. The year was 1969. A group of 63 devoted individuals, led by Pastor James S. Hall, Jr., gathered in the basement of Mt. Sinai Tabernacle Church. They sought to create a new spiritual home, a place where their shared vision of faith could flourish. Three names were considered: Beacon, Triune, and Triumph. The name Triumph resonated deeply, symbolizing victory over struggles and hope for the future. The church’s motto, “Victory in Jesus,” encapsulates this spirit. From those humble beginnings, Triumph Missionary Baptist Church embarked on a journey of growth and service. The church’s first home was a vacated building on 16th & Wingohocking Street, previously occupied by Mt. Herman Church of God. It was here that their ministries blossomed, impacting the surrounding community. Tragedy struck in 1978 when a fire ravaged the church building. Undeterred, the congregation persevered, holding services at the Boys and Girls Club and church school in members’ homes. Three years later, their beloved church was rebuilt, stronger and more vibrant than before. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church has not only rebuilt its physical structure but expanded its reach. Over the years, the church purchased and developed several properties, including a supermarket and land for a future Family Life Center. They have supported missions both locally and internationally, extending their compassion and generosity across borders. From 63 members to over 5,400, Triumph Missionary Baptist Church’s story is one of resilience, growth, and unwavering faith. It stands as a testament to the power of community, the enduring spirit of hope, and the unwavering belief in victory through Christ.
