Here’s a question: What began in five homes and blossomed into a community of 700 worshippers? That’s the story of Trinity Methodist Church. It stands here as a testament to faith and fellowship.

Trinity Methodist Church started in 1956. Young couples saw a need for a Methodist church in the Serangoon Gardens area. They organized worship services and Sunday School classes. These gatherings took place in their homes.

Imagine those early days. Five homes filled with hope and prayer. This was the humble start of Trinity Methodist Church. From those small beginnings, the church grew steadily.

In 1958, the church purchased land. It was located at the corner of Lichfield Road and Serangoon Garden Way. The cost was $66,000. By 1970, the original 28 pioneers had grown. The church now had 246 members.

Ministries expanded throughout the seventies and eighties. The Methodist Youth Fellowship started. So did the Methodist Adult Fellowship. Worship services were even held in Peranakan. A Boys’ Brigade Company was formed. These efforts reached out to different people groups.

To cater to the growing congregation, the Trinity Education Centre was built in 1984. It provided meeting rooms and classrooms. These served the children and youth of the church. Church camps were organized. The first was in 1988. These camps fostered unity.

In the 1990s, Trinity Methodist Church looked beyond Singapore. They adopted the Khmer people of Cambodia. Full-time missionaries were appointed. A local church was adopted. This became the focal point of their ministry.

At home, the church reached out to Serangoon North. In 2007, Trinity Methodist Church took over an IT center. It was located at Block 123 Serangoon North Avenue 1.

Today, Trinity Methodist Church has a clear vision. It’s “Where Disciples Make Disciples.” This vision seeks to fulfill The Great Commission.

Reverend Alvin Chan had a dream in 2013. He wanted to make everyone around him a better Christian. God revealed that this meant making disciples. God wants disciples and not just Christians.

The church actively builds discipling relationships. They want to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. Disciples carry each other’s burdens. They want to transform the lives of others.

Trinity Methodist Church has about 30 small groups. These groups range from seniors to youths. There are about 700 regular worshippers every Sunday. Services are held in English and Mandarin. There are also Children’s and Youth Ministries.

Trinity Methodist Church encourages everyone to become a disciple. They can then help others on the same journey. The church helps people engage with the Gospel. It helps them establish their faith. They equip members to discover their calling. The church also empowers them to make a difference.

Trinity Methodist Church stands as a beacon. It is a place where faith grows. It is where disciples are made. It is a testament to God’s faithfulness over the years.
