Picture this A three-way bridge gracefully arches over the waters of Copenhagen. This is Trangravsbroen a marvel of modern engineering and a vital artery for cyclists and pedestrians.

Trangravsbroen connects Christianshavn and Arsenaløen. It’s unique because it’s composed of three separate parts. These parts meet in the middle above Trangraven. One part originates from the west of Christianshavns Kanal. It offers a smooth transition to Inderhavnsbroen leading to Nyhavn. Another section starts from the southeast east of Christianshavns Kanal. The third gracefully emerges from the northeast from Trangravsvej. Trangravsvej links Arsenaløen to Papirøen across a dam.

Originally scheduled for completion in February 2013 Trangravsbroen faced delays. The contractor E Pihl & Søn went bankrupt. The delay pushed the opening to December 21 2014. This beautiful bridge is a gift. It’s a gift from the A P Møller and Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal.

Imagine strolling across Trangravsbroen. You’ll notice the intricate design. Feel the gentle breeze carrying the scent of the nearby water. Observe the bustling activity of cyclists and pedestrians. Their paths converge and diverge smoothly creating a dynamic flow.
