Slipping through time, haven’t we all wished for a paradox? At Torre Paradox, the very name whispers of intrigue. This residential skyscraper, nestled in Mexico City’s Chapultepec district, seems to embody a paradox itself. Torre Paradox stands tall at 196.2 meters, composed of three interconnected structures, each a different height. This architectural puzzle, completed in 2018, ranks as the 15th tallest building in Mexico and the 8th tallest in Mexico City. The design, a collaboration between Varabyeu Partners and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, is a study in controlled chaos. The architects wrestled with the inherent paradox of the structure. The irregular design, both in plan and height, creates lateral displacements of up to 15 centimeters on the roof. Just from the building’s own weight.
