Since 1982, Thompson’s Gallery has championed British art. It began in Aldeburgh Suffolk. John and Sue Thompson established it. They built its excellent reputation. Now, we stand before its London venue on Seymour Place. But its journey wasn’t always here.

Thompson’s Gallery first opened in Aldeburgh in 1982. Then it expanded. In 2001, it moved to Marylebone from Mayfair. Before that, it was located on Dover Street and Copthall Avenue. These moves show its growth.

What makes Thompson’s Gallery special? It focuses on 20th and 21st-century art. You’ll find paintings, sculptures, and photography here. The gallery specializes in Contemporary British and Scottish art. Thompson’s is known for sourcing original work. They find the best contemporary artists. This includes both established names and emerging talents.

Thompson’s Gallery hosts many exhibitions. They have mixed and solo shows. These exhibitions take place annually in both Aldeburgh and London. The gallery represents some of the finest modern British artists. Their staff provides expert art consultation. They offer a friendly face to the art world. Megan Thompson, John and Sue’s daughter, plays a key role. In 2011, she joined the London Gallery permanently.

Besides this London location, Thompson’s has other galleries. You can find them in Aldeburgh and Harpenden. Each gallery holds up to eleven shows a year. This means there’s always something new to see. Over 30 Suffolk artists have exhibited with Thompson’s Suffolk gallery.

Thompson’s Gallery is open six days a week. From Monday to Saturday, you can visit from 10:00 to 17:00. On Sundays, it’s open from 11:00 to 17:00.
