While the plaque itself is relatively new, the stories it whispers are as old as the land itself. Sadly, time and the elements have taken their toll on the Thompson Cemetery. Many of the original grave markers, some belonging to the Bois d’Arc family, have succumbed to the ravages of nature and vandalism.
