Nestled within the grounds of Saint Joseph’s Church, Bukit Timah, lies This Rosary Garden… Plaque. This tranquil space holds a unique story, intertwining history, faith, and remembrance. Saint Joseph’s Church itself is steeped in history. Established in 1845, it stands as the second oldest Catholic church in Singapore. This Rosary Garden, a more recent addition, was blessed in 2017 by Archbishop William Goh. The garden serves as a poignant reminder of the church’s rich heritage. It also offers a place for quiet contemplation. Within the garden, you’ll find the headstone of Father Anatole Mauduit. He was the founder of the original Kranji Chapel in 1846, the predecessor to Saint Joseph’s Church. This Rosary Garden isn’t just a place of beauty. It’s a living testament to the enduring spirit of faith and the profound connection between past and present at Saint Joseph’s Church.
