It started as a grassroots effort in 1971 by a local group known as “The Lakeway Christian Scientists.” They held their initial services at the Lakeway Inn. The group’s dedication led to its formal designation as a branch church by The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, in 1984. However, a permanent home remained elusive, and services continued at various locations. A decade later, a generous donation paved the way for the construction of the church we see today. This modern limestone edifice, nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Bee Cave, was completed in January 1996. On October 6th, 1996, the Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Austin, finally opened its doors to the community.
