Majors Nancy and Pearson Chuang two years ago became the Corps Officers at Melbourne’s Project 614 Chinese congregation. The Salvation Army Springvale Chinese Corps experienced incredible growth. This wasn’t just luck. It was the result of dedicated prayer. The congregation learned to pray actively not just listen or read. This emphasis on prayer led to many miracles.
The Salvation Army Springvale Chinese Corps offers a vibrant Cantonese worship experience. It caters to the whole family. Scripture song and sermon are all part of the service. A Children’s Sunday School runs alongside the main service. The corps also has a Seniors Companion Club. This meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 10 am. Activities include walking groups gardening and singing. Guest speakers games outings and holidays are also organised. There are Bible study discussion groups too. Another program is Mainly Music for children aged 0-5 years. Parents and children interact through music. This happens every Friday morning at 10 am. A Young Adults Small Group meets every second and fourth Sunday at 2 pm. This is for young adults aged 18-30 years. Activities include bible study sharing games and worship.
