Crow Hill and Nether Hill. These names might sound ominous, but don’t worry, we’re not about to encounter any grumpy birds or underworld creatures. We are standing at the foot of The Nether Hill, a somewhat lesser-known companion to the mighty Arthur’s Seat. While Arthur’s Seat often steals the show, The Nether Hill offers a unique perspective on the landscape. It’s a fantastic spot to catch your breath if you’re planning to tackle the main peak. You can almost imagine weary hikers of old stopping here for a moment, catching their breath as they prepared for the final ascent. From here, the views of the city and the Firth of Forth are still breathtaking. Although not as high as its grand neighbor, The Nether Hill provides a sense of peace and solitude. You can almost feel the weight of history here, imagining the footsteps of ancient people who roamed these hills long before us. So take a moment, soak in the scenery, and let the tranquility of The Nether Hill wash over you.
