The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex a massive 55000 square foot entertainment center stands before you. It’s more than just a building. It’s a testament to hope and peace. Built in 1999 on the site of the old Rosewood Shopping Center it was a dream realized. A collaboration between the City of Austin the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Austin Rosewood Community Development Corporation.
The Millennium wasn’t just thrown up overnight. Community leaders and citizens known as Promise Keepers poured their hearts and souls into its creation. Their dedication ensured a safe recreational space for local youth. It was built in memory of Tamika Ross and Juan Cotera. Their tragic deaths inspired this complex. Now their spirits represent hope and a promise of peace for the future.
Inside you’ll find so much to do. Sixteen bowling lanes beckon you to a friendly competition. A roller skating rink offers a nostalgic blast from the past. There’s also a movie theater an arcade and even a children’s play area. A full food court makes sure everyone is fed and happy. The Millennium has hosted thousands each year for community activities and commercial events.
