Opened in November 2022, The Mead Infant and Nursery School stands proudly in Epsom. This isn’t just any school. The Mead is a three-form entry infant school and nursery, catering to children aged 3 to 7. The Mead Infant and Nursery School is part of the Bourne Education Trust. It shares a sprawling playing field with Auriol Junior School, another Bourne Education Trust school located right next door. Originally, The Mead Infant and Nursery School was a community school located at a slightly different address on Cudas Close. In 2022, it transitioned to an academy and moved to its current location on Newbury Gardens. The school boasts a dedicated Hearing Impaired Unit, providing specialized education for deaf children. A striking feature of The Mead Infant and Nursery School is its modern foundation stage wing. This state-of-the-art facility houses the nursery, three reception classes, and two outdoor learning areas. These outdoor spaces serve as extensions of the classrooms. The wing also includes a community room and a specialized room for teaching deaf children. The Mead Infant and Nursery School prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere. It strives to create a happy and motivating learning environment for every pupil. With a capacity of 344 students, The Mead currently educates 312 pupils. Mrs. Tracy Creasey serves as the principal.
