Perhaps surprisingly, The Feast PICC began with humble roots. It wasn’t always the vibrant gathering it is today. Back in 1980 Bro. Eugenio Sanchez Sr. and his wife Sis. Pilar Sanchez organized a simple prayer meeting. It took place in their garage. Their twelve-year-old son Bo Sanchez led the prayer meeting. Only about 30 people attended. They called themselves The Light of Jesus Community.
Now fast forward. There are over 150 Feasts all over the world. The Feast is a weekly prayer gathering of the Light of Jesus Family. It includes Holy Mass, spirited worship and inspirational talks. These talks are about the Catholic faith. They also discuss practical Christian living. Bro. Bo Sanchez established The Feast in the early 2000s. His vision was to spread God’s Word everywhere.
Today we are at The Feast PICC. The Feast Bay Area gathers here every week. It is part of the Light of Jesus Family. Every Sunday at 10:00 AM The Feast PICC AM session takes place. The Feast PICC session features Holy Mass, powerful worship, and inspiring talks.
The Feast Ortigas District is a family of Feasts. It includes the Galleria, Valle Verde and Greenhills sessions. It is officially known as the Light of Jesus Family Mega Manila South Quezon City and San Juan District, Inc. The Feast Ortigas started in 2009. It was in the Penthouse of the Prestige Tower. About 50 people attended. Today The Feast Ortigas District oversees ten sessions. Couples, families, and young professionals attend. In 2015 they opened The Feast Center. The Feast is a safe place. People from all walks of life are welcomed and loved. Bro. Vic Español heads The Feast Ortigas District. He is a respected leader. He is also an elder of the Light of Jesus Family.
The Feast continues to grow. Its mission is to make disciples for Jesus Christ. The generous tithing of its members helps. It allows The Feast to give direct help to mercy ministries. It also allows them to organize discipleship programs. These programs align with their mission.
The Feast has a vision. It wants to be the Light of Christ. It strives to spread the Love of Christ. It engages young generations. It motivates them to grow in God’s love. The Feast nurtures their potential and talents. It encourages members to become loyal Catholic cadres. They are encouraged to be the salt and light in the world. This is in their Church, communities and daily life.
