The midwife restrained him. His father, a herbalist, performed incantations. These actions supposedly led to Orimolade’s prolonged paralysis. Shunned by his father, Orimolade later sent him a message of forgiveness.
At age five, Orimolade was singing praises in church. The minister was astonished. He thought it was a choir. It was just Orimolade. The minister employed him to teach spiritual songs.
The Cherubim and Seraphim group believes in dreams and visions. They see these as connecting God and humanity. In 1925, they claim Jesus Christ directed them to name their group “Seraphim.” This name comes from the order of angels in Isaiah 6. In 1927, they added “Cherubim.” This is also an order of angels from Isaiah 5. This addition created the name we know today.
