The National Tennis Centre opened its doors in 2007. Queen Elizabeth II herself officially inaugurated it. It rose from a need. The Lawn Tennis Association sought to cultivate world-class players.
Before the National Tennis Centre, elite training happened at Queen’s Club. However, those facilities weren’t enough. The LTA sold Queen’s Club and focused here.
This location near the All England Club is ideal. Many British players reside in this area. The National Tennis Centre became a hub for high-performance training.
Here at the National Tennis Centre, you will find 20 tennis courts. These courts replicate all Grand Slam surfaces. There are also six indoor courts. A gymnasium, sports science facilities, and medical resources are also available.
The National Tennis Centre houses the LTA’s administration. Previously, they were based at Queen’s Club. The National Tennis Centre is designed to inspire excellence.
