Did you know a fire almost consumed the Templo Lirio De Los Valles? Here we stand before the Templo Lirio De Los Valles in the heart of the Mission District. This vibrant evangelical Christian church has been a cornerstone of the community since its inception around 1987. It officially incorporated in November 1988. Templo Lirio De Los Valles pulsates with life, offering services on Sundays at 9:00 AM, noon, and 8:00 PM. They also hold services on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 PM. For families with children, Templo Lirio De Los Valles provides Sunday school during the 9:00 AM and noon services. This allows children to learn about faith in an age-appropriate setting. The church also offers a path to membership for those seeking a deeper connection. Prospective members can speak with a church leader and complete a membership application. Baptism is available for those who haven’t undergone the rite. The journey to baptism begins after conversion to Christianity and a demonstration of faith in Jesus Christ. Preparation involves discussions with church leaders and a series of classes. For those who have accepted Christ, been baptized by immersion, and are in communion with God, Templo Lirio De Los Valles welcomes participation in Holy Communion. The church extends its support beyond spiritual guidance. They offer premarital and marital classes and counseling. Those interested can schedule an appointment with a pastor. Templo Lirio De Los Valles encourages its members to serve the church in various ministries. Potential volunteers can speak with a pastor to find a role that aligns with their talents and interests. In July 2019, a one-alarm fire broke out in the stairwell between the church and its adjacent apartments. This dramatic fire displaced ten residents and a dog named Bella. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the fire was contained. The cause was deemed accidental. Despite this setback, the Templo Lirio De Los Valles continues to serve as a beacon of faith and community in San Francisco.
