The Temple of Truth Church of God in Christ wasn’t always here. Its journey began in 1988. The bustling hotel versus the quiet devotion? They held services and Bible studies. Their focus was evangelism through various community outreach. Word-of-mouth radio ads and even door-to-door visits spread their message. Their numbers grew from a small group to around sixty active members.
In 1990 they moved to a leased facility. Membership increased to roughly 100. Their continued growth reflects their dedication. Their faithfulness in spreading the Gospel. In 1997 the church was renamed Christian Temple of Dallas. They moved to a larger space on Walnut Hill Lane in 1998. That same year Lady Rochelle established the Christian Temple Academy. The school became a vital part of their campus. Membership soared to over 175.
Challenges came. A national economic downturn and a legal battle threatened their existence. Imagine the strain on the congregation. The fight to protect their property. The years between 2002 and 2006 must have been incredibly difficult. Despite the adversity they reached an agreement. They relocated to a temporary site at the Holiday Inn Select North Dallas for four years. Even there they continued their outreach. They ministered to professionals. They prepared for their next chapter.
Finally on August 31 2009 they moved to their current location in Irving. The church became known as Christian Temple Worship Center.
