Anna Helene Boyksen became the first female engineering student in 1906.

The Technical University Munich expanded. In 1930, it integrated the “Hochschule für Landwirtschaft und Brauerei” in Weihenstephan.

After World War II, teaching resumed in April 1946. Eighty percent of the main campus buildings were destroyed. Students helped rebuild the university.

In 1957, the “Forschungsreaktor München” FRM opened in Garching. This created a third location. In 1970, the university was renamed “Technische Universität München”.

The Technical University Munich celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1968. By then it had six faculties. It had 8,400 students. It employed 5,700 staff.

Since 2006, the Technical University Munich has been a University of Excellence.

In 2002, the Technical University Munich started the German Institute of Science and Technology in Singapore.
