Perched on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Tamara Center rises as a testament to Jakarta’s evolving skyline. This building embodies post-modern design. It stands proudly among the city’s architectural achievements.

Tamara Center wasn’t conceived by foreign designers. It was crafted by Accasia’s talented Indonesian engineers. Construction started in November 1988. Ssangyong Engineering & Construction partnered with Takarin Tamara. The building was completed in late 1990. It officially opened in May 1991.

The design mirrors the Tamara Group logo. Architectural teams envisioned two building parts connected by a central shaft. This symbolizes the Tamara Group itself. Its glass exterior gives a modern feel. Natural light floods in. Each side has unique geometric patterns. The north, south, east and west facades offer diverse views.

The building’s foundations use bored piles. Its structure employs reinforced concrete open frames and pre-stressed floor beams. The core is an open frame design. This accommodates the building’s asymmetrical shape. This design maximizes office space. It also evenly distributes the building’s load.

Tamara Center covers 22,800 square meters. It initially housed the Tamara Group headquarters. This included Tamara Land and Bank Tamara. The government took over Bank Tamara in 1998. It was then merged into Bank Danamon. CTBC Bank also became a tenant. It originated from a partnership with Tamara in 1997. Other tenants included Taisho, Vietnam Airlines and Royal Brunei.

A fire occurred on the top floor on April 21, 2011. The fire was not extensive. The cause remains unclear.

Tamara Center stands 20 floors high. It provides 18,278 square meters of space. Tenants enjoy various amenities. There are six passenger lifts including a service lift. Food courts, restaurants and coffee shops offer dining options. A mini market and bank add convenience. The building has an integrated telecommunication system. It also has back-up power and high-speed internet. A parking lot accommodates 324 vehicles.

Tamara Center is close to key locations. These include The Peak Apartments and Plaza Semanggi. Its prime location allows for business growth. Public transport is easily accessible. Options include TransJakarta, taxis, online transportation, MRT, and KRL. Karet and Sudirman Stations are nearby.

Completed in 1990, Tamara Center still maintains its solid structure. Its modern design rivals newer buildings. It has 6 lifts divided into low and high zones. There is also a service lift. The building offers 324 parking spaces. ATMs, restaurants, minimarkets and banks are within the building.

The Tamara Center is more than just an office building. It is a symbol of Jakarta’s dynamic growth. It is strategically located. It offers modern facilities. It fosters a thriving business environment. Its architecture reflects Indonesian ingenuity. As you stand here, consider the businesses thriving within its walls. The Tamara Center continues to shape Jakarta’s commercial landscape.
