How high do you think the Sylvester and Tweety Fair-is Wheel is? It’s not as tall as the Texas Star, that’s for sure. But it was just the right size for the little ones who rode it in Bugs Bunny Boomtown at Six Flags Over Texas. This wasn’t the first Ferris wheel to grace this section of the park though. Oh no, the Sylvester and Tweety Fair-is Wheel had a couple of predecessors. From 1982 to 1997, there was the Kiddie Ferris Wheel and Elmer Fudd’s Fewwis Wheel. Then in 1991, they added Porky Pig Magic Wheel. For a few glorious years, two Ferris wheels operated side-by-side! Sadly, Porky Pig Magic Wheel took its final spin at the end of the 2000 season. But no fear, Sylvester and Tweety Fair-is Wheel arrived in 2001 to fill the void. It became a colorful landmark in the newly christened Looney Tunes USA area. Sadly, even for Ferris wheels, time marches on. The Sylvester and Tweety Fair-is Wheel closed in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of joy and gentle spins.
