What began as a spark of faith in 1906 has grown into Sureway International Christian Ministries. This church stands as a testament to the enduring power of the Pentecostal revival. It is a place where the beauty and passion of Christ are reflected.
Sureway International Christian Ministries has a rich history. It emerged from the early 20th-century Pentecostal movement. Brother Thomas Kwaw Brem-Wilson and others gathered to form one of London’s first Pentecostal churches. He caught the fire of revival from Evan Roberts in Wales.
Initially known as Summer Road Chapel the church later aligned with the Assemblies of God in the UK and Ireland. The church has always been a beacon of faith. It is a place where people can connect with God and each other.
Rev. Brem-Wilson, a Ghanaian schoolmaster, became the first pastor. He was a man of outstanding spirituality. He was among the first to be baptized in the Holy Spirit during Pentecostalism’s rise in Britain. He led Sureway International Christian Ministries until his death in 1929.
Through the years Sureway International Christian Ministries has been led by several dedicated pastors. Rev. Charles Cortson served from 1942 to 1952. Rev. William Golding took the helm until 1959. Rev. Terry Lewis followed briefly in 1960-1962. Rev. Ronald H. Eske led the church from 1962 to 2009. Since 2009, Rev. Dr. Steve Armah has been the Senior Minister. He has a passion for the well-being of the body of Christ.
Sureway International Christian Ministries is more than just a church. It is a community. Its mission is to equip the saints for ministry and evangelize the unsaved. It also aims to make a positive impact on society and support world missions.
Several ministries thrive within Sureway International Christian Ministries. These include the Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Junior and Senior Choirs. There truly is a place for everyone here. Each ministry contributes to the church’s vibrant atmosphere.
Rev. Eric Ekuban leads the Protocol Team and Membership Classes. Rev. Hezekiah Ejim heads the Men’s Ministry. Rev. Sunday Oke preaches and teaches the Word of God. Rev. Eric Ofori-Darko serves as Associate Pastor.
