Can a single building hold a thousand dreams? Here at Sunbury Baptist Church, it just might. This isn’t just a church; it’s a testament to the power of faith and community. Sunbury Baptist Church, located at 207 Gap Road, officially came into being in 1972. It’s more than bricks and mortar. It’s a living, breathing entity composed of adults, children, and young people, all united by their shared belief. Sunbury Baptist Church wasn’t always housed in this building. The congregation met elsewhere until 1994 when, after a period of dedicated fundraising, they moved into their current home. Their vision is inspiring: a community of 1000 strong, centered around Christ, fostering growth, relationships, and trustworthiness. Sunbury Baptist Church aims to be a sanctuary, a place of healing, and a positive influence on the everyday choices people make. Every Sunday at 10am, the church doors swing open, welcoming everyone to join in worship, listen to the Word of God, and connect with fellow believers. Afterwards, coffee and fellowship strengthen the bonds within the community. Sunbury Baptist Church also extends its hand beyond its walls, holding an outreach program at the Olive Tree Hotel, at the corner of Gap Road and Evans Street. The church’s commitment goes beyond local boundaries, supporting a number of cross-cultural workers through their Global Outreach Ministry Team. This team aims to raise awareness and support for missions around the globe. They also encourage those feeling a call to mission work, whether it’s a short trip or a lifelong commitment. Sunbury Baptist Church, a place of welcome, a beacon of hope, and a testament to the power of community. It invites you to experience the warmth and connection that await within its walls.
